The Science Behind Base Spike Detox: Six Ingredients, One Formula
Every ingredient in Base Spike Detox earns its place through published research, not folklore. Here's the formulation rationale, ingredient by ingredient, with every study linked so you can read it yourself.
Nattokinase: The Core Enzyme
Nattokinase is an enzyme derived from fermented soybeans, used for decades in Japan for cardiovascular support. In a 2022 laboratory study, researchers exposed SARS-CoV-2 spike protein to nattokinase in cell lysates and reported dose- and time-dependent degradation of the protein, including reduced spike protein on the surface of cultured cells. That's a lab dish finding, worth knowing, and not the same as a guarantee for what happens after you swallow a capsule.
A separate double-blind, placebo-controlled study gave 12 healthy men a 2,000 FU dose and measured real, short-term shifts in coagulation and fibrinolysis markers. This is the human evidence behind nattokinase's role in circulation, the enzyme's broader mechanism beyond the lab result above.
Bromelain: A Second Enzyme, A Different Job
Bromelain comes from pineapple stem. In cultured VeroE6 and Calu-3 cells, researchers reported that bromelain reduced or cleaved ACE2, TMPRSS2 and SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, and significantly reduced infection of the cultured cells. Bromelain and nattokinase aren't redundant: they're different enzymes with different biochemical targets, which is why both are in the formula rather than a double dose of one.
Curcumin: Lab and Human Evidence, Together
In a SARS-CoV-2 cell study, curcumin showed antiviral activity across several treatment strategies. At 10 micrograms per milliliter, researchers reported 92% inhibition of the D614G strain under one co-treatment condition, and 99.8% inhibition of the Delta variant under a pre and post-treatment condition. Those numbers describe a lab experiment, not the expected effect of a supplement in your body.
Curcumin also has real human data. In a 140-patient randomized study, curcumin 525 mg plus piperine 2.5 mg was given twice daily alongside conventional treatment for COVID-19. Compared with the control group, researchers reported earlier symptom recovery, less deterioration, better oxygen-saturation outcomes in some measures, and shorter hospitalization in some groups. This was a single-center, adjunctive study. It didn't replace medical treatment and didn't test our finished product.
Black Pepper: Making Curcumin Actually Work
Curcumin has a well-known weakness: it's barely absorbed on its own. A human pharmacokinetic study gave volunteers 2,000 mg of curcumin alone, then curcumin with 20 mg of purified piperine, the active compound in black pepper. The combination produced far higher blood concentrations in the first hour, a reported 2,000% increase in relative bioavailability. That figure describes this specific pairing, 20 mg piperine with 2,000 mg curcumin, and is evidence for the combination rather than a blanket claim about any black pepper product. Black pepper's job in this formula is to make the curcumin count.
Dandelion Leaf: Not a Generic Cleanse Herb
Dandelion wasn't included as filler. A laboratory study examined an aqueous Taraxacum officinale leaf extract against SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and found it interfered with the ACE2 interaction across the original spike protein and several variants, including D614G, N501Y, K417N and E484K. At 10 mg/mL, it reduced spike-pseudovirus cell transduction by roughly 53 to 70% depending on treatment timing.
Dandelion leaf also has traditional and human-pilot support for elimination: a small 17-person study reported increased urinary frequency and excretion ratio after dandelion leaf extract. That study wasn't about COVID and doesn't prove viral or spike clearance on its own. It supports the traditional elimination role dandelion plays alongside its separate spike-ACE2 research.
Cayenne: The Circulation Layer
Cayenne's job in this formula is different from the other five ingredients, and that's by design. In cultured human endothelial cells, capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin increased nitric-oxide production and showed antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
A small human pilot applied capsaicin to the palate of 30 healthy volunteers and measured cerebral blood flow with transcranial Doppler, finding increased middle-cerebral-artery velocity at tolerable doses. While nattokinase, bromelain, curcumin and dandelion each carry their own spike-related research, cayenne's role is circulation and vascular support: the layer that keeps the rest of the formula working as a system rather than six ingredients competing for the same job.
